2013 Los Angeles Marathon By Cristina Gee Running and preparing for the LA Marathon has been the hardest thing I have done in my life. I was inspired to run the marathon last summer when friend of mine told me he had ran it twice before. I asked how he did it, and he told me "you have to want it". And I did want it. I wanted to run the marathon more than anything. The goal was never just to win the medal, or win bragging rights, but to...

By Steve Hyde We had a small but ferocious group at the Pentathalon this weekend I believe that this may be the most competitive meet of the season and it keeps getting bigger. 255 sprint specialists showed up for meet that offers 50 yard races in each stroke plus a 100 IM. Dave Brookwell swimming his first meet in recent history earned second place...

By Steve Hyde I want to share a truly athletic accomplishment that has been a while in the making. Last year Kat Ahlers and her mom Joanna Choy decided that they wanted to take on an iron man distance triathlon. Many of these events sell out within minutes of going online. Being aware of this they volunteered at last year's Arizona Ironman knowing that doing so assured them priority registration. This was a huge leap of faith since neither of them had ever done even a half Iron man. Kat...
